anyone have any experience with these? or any usefull info. i have found a few websites, some say these get 6 inches, others 12.

The sal-vin-EYE (Salvini) gets to be 220 mm (~8-9") max.

They feed on macroinvertebrates and other small fishes...and live amongst submersed trees and love moderate- to fast-moving waters.

thanx man. think these would be good for me or no? my lfs said he might be able to get rainbow cichlids, and for me to talk to him sunday, so im on pause till then. if not i have been lookig at convicts, and blue acaras, not sure if these two go together, but if they dont i will pick on of those and go from there :)

They're "semi-aggressive" by most profiles, so they should be watched while in a community tank, but they'd probably do fine with the Cons...as long as the Cons are large enough.

well if i cant get my rainbow cichlids, i have come up with this list of possibilites

port cichlid
blue acara
salini cichlid
green/gold severum
convict
firemouth

well thats what i have for now :) let me know your opinions please :) btw i know i cant have all of them, its just what im looking at for now hehe

BLUE ACARAS!! blue acaras are nice they have great coloring, esp the iridescent blue they have.

cons and firemouths are too common IMO. my brother got a tank with them as you can see in my signature. and i got a tank of blue acaras.

yea salvinis get about 7-9" and they are moderately aggressive.
