I think that the reason that my tank has had this "dust" floating in the water column might be from over feeding a little since it's been going on for at least a week now. When payday comes I'm going to get a test strip kit.

Strips are woefully, woefully, woefully inaccurate to the point that they will not suit your long-term aquarium needs. I made this very mistake and it cost me much pain and livestock.
I finally found a bamboo shrimp and it was the last one that petco had! Okay I had it for a few days now and it is always hiding which is sad because its a beautiful shrimp that I wish that I can watch.
I have a bamboo shrimp. It likes swift current where it can filter feed. If you can setup that environment, it will come out and you can watch how it feeds. I took this video a few months back of my bamboo shrimp.
I moved some stuff around and its still hiding. I think I should get a plant or decoration to put under the filter's outlet and see if that helps.
On the brighter side I think my bumblebee platy is pregnant. She is isolating herself a bit and nip at other fish a little if they get too close and her dorsal fin is always up.

Mine hides for days, then comes outs for a day or two. I think they are shy creatures. Once I didn't see him for a week and thought he died and my other shrimps ate the body. But then he showed himself again! These guys are not as active as ghost shrimp or RCS.
I believe I know what's causing the "dust" type stuff in my tank, it's from a big rock. The rock I have put out a small amount of white stuff from a hole in it so I took out the rock and bushed it down as best as I could. I hope that fixes this "dust" stuff.
