New Project

Hope you recover 100% but if not make sure it gets entered and get certified copies for your medical record and the VA. Don't be surprise if you only gain back 30-50% and you have to take disability retirement on top of what you already may get .

Oh it is on my record I have a CDR interested on my case because is really weird getting injured the way I did.

Even if its not directly work related, you were still on duty and is most likely indirectly related. Don't let them tell you its genetic and therefore prior service onset. I had to threaten a few bean counters with a congressional investigation when they tried to throw my yeoman out with 19 years and 6 months no pension, you want to talk about some yelling going on and flaming emails. Needless to say hes is now retired with full benefits and disability.

Well got news from my Navy Physical Evaluation Board 2 days ago. They approved me 20% disability from my Connective tissue disease and 10% for my Asthma that is not constant but I do get episodes every now and then. Which means I keep all my benefits and I will be out of the service in 90 days. Now apply for Gov jobs and wait for VA to see how much they will approve me. The other news is that I got sick been in bed for 1 day with bronchitis. It sucks. Can't work on the project because i get worn out quick. The Throat is getting better the vocal cords are almost to normal but the fracture I don't think is healing. Every day or two have to push it in place because it hurts when it gets out place. :( Sorry guys that's all I have for now. Happy New Year. :)

I never filed for any. I worked out so much every day (4 miles, wights, swimming) most of my physical ailments (bad back, minor hip arthritis, asthma from diving, knee problems) symptoms remained under control until the day I got out. I still have to work out even though I'm fatter now LOL, otherwise I become symptomatic.

Although sometimes I wish I had, goodness knows I spent enough time fighting for the people that worked for me who really needed it, just like you.

Thanks Gunner. I tell you what everything begun when I twist my left knee and torn my lateral meniscus, from that moment on i couldn't take a knee and get up. My leg wouldn't support my weight when getting up and you know when you gotta get around into these little bilges to weld and sometimes be there for hours in a same position specially if you are doing emergency repairs to get the ship at full steam ahead. So I went to medical several times for my knee and one day I had pink eye and got to sick call and when I asked the corpman about some swelling on my hands they called the first class and he call the doc who ordered me to go to see him right away. Then blood work and after a day or two the doc called me to say I had some weird blood anatomy that's how it begun from there on I have been from doc to doc to find out 4 years later I had a torn meniscus and that messed up the entire cartilage on my left knee because no one did an MRI of it to see if anything was out of ordinary till my Rheumatologist did one and bingo in about 2 weeks I'm in the OR table. Then the right knee that had a similar issue for compensating the balance of the left and 2 months or so later again in the OR. At that time this was my 4th surgery in 2 years. So because of my disease having impact on connective tissue(tendons, cartilage, and so on) my knee is wasn't service connected injury. Bump. So there's a bit of my story. Not to mention that the day that my hands were swollen my wedding ring hat to be cut with a cutting wheel to get it off my finger. Wife was mad but understood either ring or finger.

Thanks Halfmoonplakat at least on the forums people understand.
