Great job on the tank Grant. I need your patience with the tank. Love how clean and simple you are keeping it. Now we can watch the blyxa spread along with the hairgrass, will be a nice layering effect. Also love the crinium, i find they are hard plants to use in the scape since they can get very tall (mine was over 3').

Either way love it a lot!! Did you break the 10g tank that was under the stand??

Now just waiting on the cyps :)
 
Sweet tank! The fish and plants look pretty healthy. Great combination of color and texture.

Patience is overrated my friend. A lot of back-breaking work yesterday doing the re-plumbing but it was worth it. I do like a little cleaner look (one of the reasons I installed the relief backing) but those green forest tanks of yours are awesome. Re: blyxa.... I hope it does well; guess we'll see which plants do/do not like their new home. I'll be keeping the crinum very tight. The 10 gallon was moved to the garage; that plastic bracket I'm using to mount the CO2 bioreactor is supposed to be used for display of large china plates :hypnotized:

Thanks for following the thread slappy. The old ID shark (now more than 15 years old) had some tough conditions growing up, so he's fully stunted + has some major cataracts but is as healthy now as he has ever been. Hopefully he'll be with us for a long time to come...
 
I love your tank, it seems to get better every time you update it. :D Corkscrew vals aren't native to SE Asia however, if you're looking for a tall thin plant from SE Asia, look into onion plants.

Thanks David! Absolutely right and smack my mouth; they are not "corkscrew" but contortion vals (vallsineria asiatica).

Well done Doc. Meticulously managed without compromising aesthetic appeal. I'm sure there're others who, like me, appreciate your taking the time to outline hardware, water chem, stock species and densities, etc. Very helpful. Cheers,
