AWESOME to hear that he gets around pretty well. My Petunia (the huge rescued oranda in the vids from my tank that I showed you) has swim bladder issues, and she's pretty much stuck at the top of the tank. I had to take out ALL of my tall plants in order for her to be able to get around. She *can* get down to the bottom, but, it takes her a lot of effort, and she can't stay down there for long- swimming in the middle- yeah, that doesn't really happen too much. Porkchop (the big rescued Ryukin, who came to me with the tail bruises) has actually pretty much recovered from the swim bladder stuff, and she is swimming around like a champ. I don't think Petunia will have the same luck.
Goldie tanks can look GORGEOUS with just plants and a few rocks. The goldfish are usually ornamental enough that they work really well as a focal in the tank without anything else super fancy going on. I pulled a couple of pics from Google Images that you might like for inspiration. You might need a couple more plants, but,the best thing about the natural rocks is they just require a trip to a lake or river bed with a bucket, and you've got your big rocks. Just boil them for an hour or 2 before letting them cool and adding them to your tank.
2 with rocks & plants only:

And this last one uses one piece of decor very similar to the driftwood chunk you already have, and a bunch of plastic plants- you could already recreate this look now, with what you have- you'd just need a FEW natural rocks, which are easy to come by. Personally, I think this one is stunning. I love, love, LOVE this tank look.

Not trying to be pushy- it's your tank, and whatever you do will be stunningly gorgeous... I just like looking at and sharing aquascapes and ideas.
