PETA's Stance on Aquariums

I have heard that a large percentage of fish in a saltwater fish store are captured in the wild. I hope that the article is not correct about the methods that many of these fish are captured. Our living oceanic reefs are definately a resource that need to be protected.

peta needs to attack walmart, petco, petsmart and stuff, there the ones who are harming the fish and not giving good information which makes other people harm fish, if only i had a dollar every time someone said "Petsmart told me to do this, now my fish are dead"

i have nothing against tree huggers, i don't see how you could!
they just are concerned about either all the people dying because of the wars, who wants to here about death every day anyway?

the environment is cool , i'm going out to hug the tree in my back yard right now.

anyway its hard to keep political laws inside my self......... anyway i agree with PETA
hmmmm.... so young..... *shakes head*

wow! I cant believe everyone is criticizing PETA this bad. Their article might not have been the best but they do have a point. Animals dont belong in cages....or tanks. As for pollution- it wouldnt exist if we didnt create it.....so dont for a second think that you are doing something good for them by taking them away from their real homes becayse, to begin with you are destroying it.

That PETA article is insulting to any intelligent person. It is biased, sensationalist drivel.

The mistake PETA make is in anthropomorphising animals. ( I do it myself every time I name a fish). Animals have no concept of freedom.

Talking of freedom, the animals in my aquarium almost always have freedom from predators, freedom from disease, freedom from pollution, freedom from famine and freedom from environmental disasters. Living in the wild is totally the opposite.
