katschamne, i see you have experienced all the same things i did with the company. No training and the emphasis was on customer service. Which is funny considering in a specialized environment like that no training = bad customer service. I can't wait for petco to realize that.
I was there part time for 2.5 years and enjoyed sharing my knowledge. I will admit i will never go back to a job where i sell live animals like that though. Too much frustration and dissapointment to deal with on a daily basis (example: the cliche question about keeping clownfish in a bowl, and oscar in a 10g gets really old and tiring). But if you are knowledgeable at a store like that, you get a good customer base because they don't expect great information there.
