PETCO $1 PER GALLON SALE!!!!

Petco is still cheaper, cause you can goto walmart or home depot and get a shoplight and a pair of bulbs for $20 total. And if you want to go high-tech plants or coral, you will have to buy powerful lighting anyways.
Yea, I figure I don't even need a hood right now... I have some plexiglass I can just cut to fit the top.
Does anyone know if Petcos are getting shipments in just for this sale or if it's limited to what they have in stock at the moment. From what I've seen the Petcos around here have very limited amounts of 55s - or at least what they have out in the open. Perhaps they have more in stock in the back... maybe someone who works/has worked at Petco knows?
When i worked there the store received a massive shipment right before the sale. Even though the sale is diff. this year they still will it will just be 20, 29, 55. And i think on one of the earlier pages in this thread someone mentioned their store got a bunch in.
Also, i cant help but think i had this coming. Haha...i always thought $1/gallon was so good. And that i would even buy one if it was like 30% off...well i got my wish, sigh.
Usually we have a 2-20L, 1-20H, 2-29 and maybe 2-55 gallons. We got a shipment a little over a week ago with 3x (except 55gallons I think we have 4) what we normally have. The sale is still limited to on hand stock, so once they are gone that is it. We probably won't get in another shipment until the sale is over. We put all of our tanks on the floor. If you don't see the tank that you need you can ask if they have any in the back but don't get your hopes up, because we don't have a lot of room in the back room.
I'm sure it all depends on what the store usually stocks. I'm sure stores in larger cities will get more than the stores in rural locations. Noone wants to get stuck with a bunch of tanks, but they also want to move as many as possible. Are 40 Breeders also included in that sale?
If thats the case it sucks. I'm sure they will still sell but they should offer up to 55's at least for $1/gallon.
I went to petco to check things out and they had the signs up for the sales and it just said 20 & 29g and 55g for $79.99. it's just a tough choice for us, I guess $80 for a 55 is a good deal I just hate to have to buy the hood/light and a higher voltage heater. ugh.. I might go 29g and use the 20g we have for turtles for the kids! only hrs away and still haven't made a choice!
