Pics of nice giant Gouramis(not small)

wwildcats04, I dont know if you have seen healthy gourami or not, I have kept them for years and still have never cought a decent picture of them, Gourami are active and 99% are camera shy, for someone to get that decent of a picture was either photoshopped or someone has a professional Aquarium with a professional camera, Frankly I do think it's a fake, it's my opinion and I am entitled to it. all we have to go on is a picture of a fish, not the tank or anything else, for me to even be semi convinced I still want to see the entire Tank Setup.

is that photoshopped? that gourami is not moving as you can tell
I also have had plenty of gourami and honestly hate them but thats besides the point they are not always active or shy. my pearl used to hang out right infront of the glass almost all the time, dwarfs are nuts and prob cant get a good picture. but a fish that is 8" how could would it be hard to get a good picture. also if you have taken photography classes there is a technique called panning which makes it look still and than the whole shutter speed thing as well. Im not saying you arent entitled to your opinion but honestly does it effect you if his gourami is photoshopped or not? can you not sleep at night if it is? honestly get a life other than worrying about other peoples fish.. this forum is an educational tool so that you can learn and help others to learn, not bash each other. this is coming from a 19 year old kid. if a kid can be mature enought to say this, than what is everyone elses problem?

that picture shows an aquarium, not just a fish with a blurred backround and 3 other fish, that picture shows it in it's entirity. Jason's picture only shows a 3-4 fish, blurred background, It's not hard to photoshop that. I have worked with photoshop for years and a simple blur tool can have that effect. these fish are extreemly rare and should never should have been sold to a person w/o a decent setup and not bought or given away without knowing the setup a person has, It's irresponcible to keep that fish in a situation that would be detrimental to it's health. as it's currently being kept in a 130 gal tank which is fine for short term. but in the long term that fish will require alot more then a tank, food and filtration is a key thing for thouse type of gourami. Good luck with that fish...if you have it

I have a baby (7") silver arowana in a 75g is that bad? no because I have a filter in it that is rated for a 125g plus weekly water changes. I am going to be buying a 265 in time. maybe jason is doing the same. maybe he blurred out the other stuff to enhance the way the gourami looked since that was the focus of the picture. also if he was using a manual camera not an automatic one you can focus in on the thing you want and make it so others are blury. there are tons of options that he could have taken other than photoshopping some random young giant gourami into his aquarium. if you want an example of the manual camera thing because you dont believe me ask and I'll post a picture. i do not have photoshop on my computer so you can take my word that it was not done. the gourami in the picture is at shedd aquarium in chicago. I have seen giant gourami for sale many of places and im sure many lfs can special order them as well... its just a matter of how good your lfs is. the one I go to is so good and cares so much about the fish that they will not get fish such as the pacu in because they dont want to sell them to people who can not care for them... however they can get that gourami in

I have been to Shedds I have seen their gourami, they have setups for that type of fish, and the several hundered others like it, I have seen the picture and in no way has it been photoshopped. there is evidence in jasons that it has been, no manual camera would leave that trace

OK, OK. <bows> glad to be back, and to provide some definitive answer.

That giant gourami is one of a kind because it's NOT REAL. You can tell by the pixel depth from front to back, and by the color. Look how yellow his eye is compared to his body. There is absolutely no way that any kind of lighting existing in the real world could accomplish that underwater. You won't see another pic of it because (unless he wrote down what he did with color balances), he'll never exactly replicate that artwork. I don't care if it is a giant gourami or not, or if he even owns it or not, it's been altered and therefore his bragging about it is strange behavior.

Jason, you are a liar, a braggart, and you ca'nt tipe too saiv ur lief. This has been established. I could care less about the typing (wasn't there a whole thread on that topic?), and the bragging.

What I really think the issue is here is that Jason is lying & bragging to gain acceptance and acclaim in an online fish forum.

HOW GOSHDARN FUNNY IS THAT!! Boy, you need some help 'cause that's about as weird a thing as I've ever heard. Remember how the guy in "Fight Club" goes to support groups for cancer even though he doesn't have it? That's probably the case here, he's WEIRD, BORED, and NEEDS ATTENTION. JSkillz, seek professional help before you start beating yourself up.

 :joe: :troll: :help: :bday: :duh: :joke: :thud:

i dont think the point was that it effects him it's that we are all tired of him bragging about his one picture of his fish that we have seen so many time if you look that picture is all over this forum site. it really does get quite annoying, i know im tired of it. personaly i could care less if it's real or not but if it is all i care about is that he had the proper equipment to take care of it. Granet we probly should'nt have been quite so mean to him and it was pretty immature of all of us mabey a moderator should just close this thread cause i know that im tired of this crap and to Jason, i am sorry, but please next time when you want to show us your picture and it's kool that you want to see other people's fish but just try to be a little nicer, cause (im gunna be honest for a second here and tell you how i feel) the way you started the thread (to me atleast) seemed pretty rude almost like your fish is better than everyone elses and that kind of attitude will NEVER get respect from me so next time you show us just try to be a little more respectful and i garuntee ((SP?)) you will be respected and if you arnt then it's the other people who need to check themselves ...

...this appology wasn't ment to be rude or nasty sorry if it is but im a pretty blunt person somtimes
