Thank you all for the kind comments.
Wow! To think it would inspire anyone to create a planted tank of their own it is the most flattering compliant I've gotten about my tank to date.
Thank You!
It is great to hear a fellow hobbyists is turning to the green side...LOL A healthy planted tank is very challenging and fulfilling. My first piece of advice for anyone would be to get informed and have a plan. Being a member here is a great 1st start for information. Good Luck.
Congrats on a the 60" tank. Surprisely I've found my demensions aren't that common but it's been a great tank for experiementing trying different things.
You hit the nail on the head the big pieces in there are Mopani driftwood which I've had for many years now which I picked up locally. I can't imagine trying to get these pieces with today's prices though. These pieces are really heavy so sinking wasn't a problem. Some of the smaller pieces if left to dry completely will take a few weeks to sink again.
Send me a PM of your thread when you post some pictures I'm definitely interested in how you make out.
awesome-just awesome! My wife has been trying to convince me to swap out my 55g mbuna for a planted angel tank for a while...I think after seeing this setup, I just might do the swap...

Got a 60" tank and am getting it going myself now, and gonna order some plants from Aquabotanica soon as I get back home and get the hardscape done the way I want it. I'm down at my dads place about 300 miles from there at the moment. Would kill for a 36" piece of mopani with a nice bend in it. I just love the way you have the wood set up in your tank and am hoping to create a bridge effect between two rock bases in my own. What kind of wood is that in yours and where did you get it? Did you have any trouble sinking it?
