ihad a couple years ago...sorry can't remember much to tell you. i still have a nice book on rainbows and blue eyes. this is one that hails from a brackish area- if i rmember correctly.
the threadfin rainbows are also very cool! a bit more sensitive and a freshwater.
No, it's not a brackish rainbow. There are a few rainbows that hang around eustraries, but those same fish are also found in freshwater lakes, rivers and streams. Dunno if there are any "true" brackish ones. I'll ask on the list.
Boesemani Fan?
Pseudomugil gertrudae, the first picture, is distributed throughout the Northern Territory, northern Queensland, and south-western New Guinea. Found in lakes, rivers and streams. Not brackish.
Pseudomugil connieae, the second picture, originally discovered in Auga Creek, eastern Papua New Guinea. Found in many locals there. Not brackish.
Pseudomugil furcatus, third picture, relatively common in small, clear, rainforest streams. Not brackish.
Anyhow, if in doubt or you want to know, hit the link Emg supplied and read up on it. If it's found in rivers, creeks, streams, lakes, whatever, it's not brackish.
