We can always count on PufferPunk. :) Looks like he is a baby and will get big. Col looking guy not your run of the mill puffer. Good score! Tank care of him.

Superlynx, dont think that by me asking this I am doubting you in anyway. But I just wanted to make sure your tank was fully cylced before you added the puffer. I only ask because you said you were new and lost something in the first week. I noticed you didnt have LR in your tank so I just want to make sure we didnt loose a great puffer. :)
 
I do have a fish guy that comes by once a month to help me take care of the tank. He got us this puffer, so I think the tank is safe. The puffer is eating very well. He eats like a pig. I am just trying to learn as much as I can.

Question about AngelFish. Is it true that you can only keep one Angel at a time in the same tank?
 
I would not put any other fish with puffer. It's a killer! It also likes to burrow in the sand--at at least 3" would make it happy. they are ambush predators, which means they lay in wait up to their eyeballs in sand for food to walk/swim overhead & than eviscerate them from below. Feed him pieces of people shrimp, squid, crabs, mussels, clam, etc.

This species is the fugu people eat in Japan.
 
THank you, PufferPunk. He is eating great, but I keep reading about how we need to feed him clam or shell stuff to help him with his teeth. Since he is so small, what should we help him with his teeth.
 
I just googled Fugu and watched the first Youtube video that came up... They were cutting up a LIVE puffer..... Makes me very sad but I love sushi still..... I knew sushi was very fresh but I didn't know it was alive just minutes before eaten. Sorry to get ya'll off topic. :(
 
Holy smokes ferg you were not joking about it still being alive...i mean i thought it was dead until it was still "breathing" i guess you can call it with no head...wow.
