Project Great Wall o' Tanks

Could be. I'm working on my wall of tanks atm and it's made completely out of metal. I hope I'm not putting any of my animals or myself in danger.

There are plenty of tank stands you can buy that are made of out metal...I think show show tanks though, the wood cabinets are nicer looking than a basic angle-iron stand. As long as you seal it well with paint or something then it should be fine.

Yeah, I was going to get some today actually but the camera is in PA with my wife. Not much as changed though in the room itself.

Wonderful tanks, I love you wall and how well you finished it off. I also love your pond. That and the chops those are pretty sweet too.

Your wife must have some really expensive dressage horses if she lets you do things like this.

I also like your turtle. We had one in the back yard a couple years ago that was probably pushing 100lbs and it broke a broom handle when we poked it.

I too want a fish wall and a big pond someday. Thanks for all the helpful ideas and trial and error.

Sploke,
your wall construction details are great, but for a novice like me, its the pump/filter/sump/timer...that amazing ordered chaos behind the tanks....the general water maintenence hardware, that I baulk at. Are there threads which walk dunces like me the maze?
Cheers
Greg

Well, we picked up a new TV on teh super-cheap, a buddy of mine was moving across the country so he sold me his. Its nothing fancy, just enormous- 60" rear projection. I still want a nice HD flatscreen, but this will stem the urge to out out and buy one for a while. We have been couch shopping, but it turns out my wife is fairly particular about what kind of furniture goes into the basement :D but hopefully we'll have that part of it figured out in the next few months. It sucks right now because, with only a loveseat down there, any time someone comes to visit, someone ends up sitting on the floor. I've been meaning to get some new pictures, but the tanks all look like crap right now - I just changed the 55gal to SMS substrate, and every time I've added it, I get this weird greyish green hard algae on the glass that the mag-float can't even touch. It seems to go away on its own after a while, I think it has something to do with what nutrients the SMS sucks out of the water collumn until its "primed" in a way.
