PVC Caves?

I did it to make a rock once, but not for cichlids. I did it for a miniatures wargame (mageknight). It was quite sucsessfull. You could do that for decorations though. just be sure to paint it with silacone sealant after you get done painting the pvc.

Do you Mean PVC Pipe?

I've never Used PVC pipe for cichlids as i do not keep them myself. But recently i did use it to make some caves for my new clown loaches. Just make sure to remove all the burs after cutting it to the proper lengthen. Then use some sand paper to smooth out and rough edges so the fish are not injured by it.

Lastly, clean them good in hot water and place it in your tank. Hide it with plants or rocks if you wish.

As i posted before, after going to all that trouble for my clown loaches, they decided they liked wedgeing themselves between the pipe and the red slate rather than sleeping IN the pipe.

I have made caves... I used regular pvc and aquarium siliconed Pond Stones from home depot. Also made a sand silicone paste to cover the inside so no with is showing at all. If i knew how to post pictures i would put them on, not to steal the thread but if anyone knows let me know. I absolutely love the way they look, with gravel glued on to contrast. It is time consuming but the after effect is amazing. Also they have been in a 46 gallon for about a year and half and seem to be completely inert.

Im working on my first cave. Using a pvc drain pipe with aquarium silicon and white gravel. I will use white sand in my next aquarium. Any ideas/comments are greatly appreciated.
