Recommendations compatible tank mates

Ill see if I can find one of the bigger appisto species, If I cant then Ill go with 2 rams, cheaper hardier and much easier to find.

This guy has a fish with a blue front yellow tail, you can see two at 1:28 what are those?

Right now The tank 24 plastic plants (7"-12") a 7" terracotta pot "cave", 1/3 of the back has pothos growing the hood with the roots growing down from the surface (nitrate remover and gourami refuge). Ive got a leafy branch from and artificial ficus, not sure if its going in there,. And Im slowiy building up a lava rock cave with silicone (which may not go in depending on how crappy it looks)

It looks like some kind of rainbow fish to me, judging by the body shape. I'm not very familiar with them

A few more questions today

1) I see in Authmal's signature, his 55g tank has a koi angelfish with 2 rams. My tanks footprint is bigger than a 55. Can add a single anglefish, discus, or festivum with 2 a. cacatides or 2 rams

2) How's this for a tentative stocking list

2 cacatuoides
6 zebra loaches
5 honey gourami
3 Pearl gourami
5 tetras (emperor, phantom, or black skirt)

OR

Swap out the honey gourami for a festivum or anglefish

3) Would peacock gudgeon work with the list above?

4) Both of these come up when I search zebra loach are these the same species? I really like the 2nd one

Those are separate species, the first is Botia striata, the second B. histronica. The striata is commonly sold, the histronica isn't.
It would be safer to just have 1 species of gourami and then double the number of tetra's. They are a schooling fish, 5 isn't really a school, more like 2 and a half pair.

I have an angel and gouramie (dwarf) mixed in a 55g and its not a good mix. Im trying to rehome the gouramie as he does nothing but pick on the angel. They were good at first but last couple weeks have not been good.

All my research says the honey gourami is extremely peaceful, theyre should be ok to keep with other gourami, but Ill heed the advice

6 zebra loaches, 10 black skirt tetra, 3 pearl gourami, 2 rams... not too crowded for 50g?

Certainly not.
Gourami temperament and compatibility often depends on the individual fish. They could be peaceful... or not.

I would go with 1 of your other smaller, prettier tetra choices instead of skirts. But other than that your plan sounds ok.

The histionica loach in your pic is a juvenile, they change a bit as they age. Striatas are a bit smaller & a better fit in your tank I think.

Just to make sure, you're talking about a M & F pair of rams & a M & 2 F pearls right?

Keep in mind, most fish are sold as juveniles & your tank might seem understocked until they grow to adult sizes in 6-12 months or so. You latest list sounds like a good long term plan.

Im not a fan of the slender bodied tetras. I picked the black skirt because the white skirt and glofish tetra are all the same species. I was thinking 2 blacks, 2 whites, and if theirs a color lacking... get a glofish or two. Serpae tetra are not as nice looking but close, and smalle but read that theyre nippers. The tetras are an after thought, and the ones I care least about. I might even go with a trio of rainbow fish instead of the tetras. I havent read up on theyre compatibility yet.

Ive read all over the the forums, I will have less problem if I dont get a male and female dwarf cichlid, they get nasty when breeding,so I was just going to get 2 males Rams (or 2male apistos, the rams seem hardier from what Ive read).

Inversely gourami males are always nastier, so just female pearls (if as you say theyre big enough to sex).
