WOW very, very interesting post jinkzd. I really want to thank you for writing this because while I myself don't sell (yet (hopefully lol)) it really opens ones eyes to the problems they could face if they don't know what they're buying. I mean seriously, who wants legal troubles for a snail? Love em but not that much lol.

Any info on the legalities of the brackish/FW snail w/ the spines on the shells? Possibly a Thiaridae member(?) or on any of the (other) Sulawesi species (Clithons, Tylomelania)?

Thank you for the sticky! It helps me to know what to get/stay away from.

Any species of snails, fish, etc. that is illegal to own can in fact be taken away from you and you can be arrested and/or fines for possession of them. It doesn't matter how you acquired them. For example: Piranha are illegal here and if you have them you will be arrested. Even if the fish was given to you! As Msjinkzd posted - know what you are getting and know the law for your area. Ignorance of the law is not an acceptable defense. When trying to use ignorance of the law as a defense, you will be countered with "culpability". Culpability means you should/may have known and therefore are responsible.

Thanks so much and I got a little more out of it I thought mystery snails would chew all my plants down and well here it says they wont my girlfriend is gunna love the new mystery sails im gunna get!

They are not currently being regulated according to my local USDA/Aphis rep. I called her and asked her before I started keeping them myself.
