Riparium in Mr. Aqua 11.4

I don't have any plants in here yet, but the spiral CF seems bright enough.

I have my eye on this lamp...

Ecoxtic: Panorama LED Module

...and wonder about it as a possible upgrade. Does anybody out there have any experience with these? I wish that I could get an idea of the lumens output: the spec sheet doesn't list that anywhere.

I got some plants in here and here it is with gravel, heater and filter too...

The planting is real simple. The riparium plants are, from left...

  • Pilea grandifolia -- on a trellis raft
  • Pogonatherum paniceum, baby panda bamboo
  • Fittonia "red vein" -- on trellis raft
  • Laguncularia racemosa, white mangrove
  • Acorus gramineus "dwarf"

I will switch it up some more to better resolve the layout.

Sorry, I rarely check the planted section. The gobies I keep are generally all high flow fish with high dissolved o2 requirements. Not entirely sure how the plants would do under those conditions. This would be a great tank for a reverse trio of one of the less jumpy mouthbrooding bettas though. I really like the look of this tank so far. That dwarf "bamboo" is pretty dang convincing!

Oh I just remembered the small fish that I have had in mind before, Danio choprae. I saw some once at the LFS and they were really cool. I wonder if I can find any somewhere(?).

Thanks for that tip!

If I look around some I should be able to find some for sale.

The choprae are my favorite danios, period. I would go with a relatively small school in that tank though. Despite being somewhat calmer than their relatives, they are still pretty active fish.

Yeah, no more than 6 or 7.

What do you think about combining them with a dwarf pike cichlid? I have one that I would like to use somewhere. It is semi-aggressive, but quick fish are able to stay out of the way well enough.
