Riparium in Mr. Aqua 11.4

Never kept the dwarf pikes, but given the size of the tank, personally, i'd go with one or the other.

I think your right. The pike would probably chase the danios right up and out of the water and onto the floor.

Does anybody have any other fish ideas or suggestions?

I wonder about either a sparkling gourami or some kind of species beta combined with a small shoaling species.

Betta channoides is very mellow and not as prone to jumping as other mouthbrooders ime. A pair would fit this tank nicely, and could easily be housed with small schoolers like rasbora kubotai.

Beautiful tank, but one recommendation. I would place a very thin sheet of styrofoam under the tank.

Rimless tanks seem to find the smallest grain of dirt/sand under them, and with the weight of the water, they easily break.

Just my opinion, wouldn't want a beautiful tank like that breaking because of grain of sand syndrome.

I think that a small school/shoal (I can never remember which one is which, lol) of White Clouds or Gold White Clouds would look good in the tank.

I thought of white clouds too.

Inka4040 have you seen Betta channoides for sale anyplace recently? The last I saw that one was still pretty pricy and hard to find(?).

I got some plants in here and here it is with gravel, heater and filter too...

The planting is real simple. The riparium plants are, from left...

  • Pilea grandifolia -- on a trellis raft
  • Pogonatherum paniceum, baby panda bamboo
  • Fittonia "red vein" -- on trellis raft
  • Laguncularia racemosa, white mangrove
  • Acorus gramineus "dwarf"

I will switch it up some more to better resolve the layout.
Epic... but on a small scale.

you, my friend... have talent... and vision.

i know you'll change this around a couple times. looking forward to it.
