I got a big bottle of Seachem Equilibrium for 2.00. I am curious what you guys think the safe dosage would be for moderatly planted tanks, if I havnt tested the water already? I dont own a GH and KH test kit yet. But I have city tap water and do 50% WC with gravel vac (thankgod for Python). So its not RO/DI. The bottle says the dosage is for RO/DO already. The dosage is one tablespoon per 20gs and that raises it 3dh. Which the bottle says is ideal for GH and KH. This bottle only effects GH. I dont know that much about either. Can it kill fish if too high? Or just make deposits? Im not sure. Off the top i was thinking cut it in half, 1/4 tablespoon per 10g. The regular is half talbespoon for 10g Ro/Di water. Just maybe a pinch each WC? I know my tetra florapride has some potash in it as well (0-0-3). Id prolly discontinue. Is it bad to raise (maybe) and stabilize GH w/o KH?

I also do DIY co2 only on the 5g 1-2L 5.2wpg and my 10g 1-2L 1.5wpg

Thankyou for your guidance.

I'm not sure that adding a supplement that is designed for ro water is a good idea for tap water, especially if you don't know whether your water is hard or not. There are other supplements that are suited for regular water.

I know, but it was clearence. We know how that goes.

Thats why I was talking about cutting the dosage for untested tap water

com' on thats not helpfull at all.

Im sure my hardness isnt perfect. And its more plant ferts. Main ? is I suppose, should i use that instead of tetra florapride.

I think that the Tetra Florapride would be better. You don't want to make your water hard, especially if it is hard already. That could cause you some real problems.

thats what I need to know. What is too hard. What are symptoms? Some belive as ive read around that its ok? as its gradual and dissapated at WC?

someone help please.

If you want to know what your kh and your gh is, you are going to have to get a test kit to tell you. This product will raise your kh and your gh and most likely your ph, thats what its for. If you don't need it, don't us it.
