Hi to everyone that helps with this question.

Im wanting to know if the seahorses are just saltwater or if there is a freshwaer seahorse. I have freshwater tanks and my 5 year old son has fallen in love with the seahorses, but as far as I have been able to find info wise is staying that they are saltwater only, which I have no clue on how to do a saltwater tank.

Any help is much appreciated.

1) All Seahorses are SW.
2) If you have no experience with Seahorses, I would not go that route.
3) Seahorses are very demanding- Lower flow, slow eating, needs continuous feedings of small amounts of food.

Honestly,

they are all SW and considered to be difficult to keep.

You could maybe placate your son a little with a membership to a local aquarium.

If you really want to try keeping them, and are OK with all the work involved, then start reading... you can get a little more information from http://www.seahorse.org/library/articles/careguide/careguide.pdf assuming you want regular seahorses, seahorse.org is an overall great resource.
