I've really researched this one to death. Best attempt at a Malay peninsula/Thai blackwater pool environment. Plants at the moment are blyxa aubertii, cryptocoryne balansae and java moss. But this is actually a piece in transition as it will go from its current twenty gallon to a thirty gallon long and will house only blyxa aubertii, pogostemon helferi and cyperus helferi as per very strict regional and ecosystem nerdiness.

Fauna are harlequin rasboras, a female betta, a female pearl gourami, three SAEs and four amano shrimp. Rocks are red petrified wood, substrate is red sand mixed with flourite to simulate the iron-rich terrain of the area.

Yes I know equipment is visible but like I said it's in transition, so I'm basically moving things around as plants grow in and the thirty should be set up in a few weeks.

Enjoy.

i like this tank very natural

Thanks!

The rocks are set to be used as a means of making a sort of bank effect in coordination with some root wood once this goes "live" in the thirty gallon tank. The back of the tank will be higher up, with what will look like tree roots as if this would be along the sides of a creek and therefore a flooded pool. Hey who doesn't love the rainy season?

And I guess I should list the tech specs.

Fluval 104 and Eheim 2213 with peat
Rena Top Lite Excel
2x 65 watt PC
DIY CO2
Flourite
root wood
petrified wood

And when I go "live" in the thirty gallon:

2x Eheim 2213 with peat
Visi Therm Stealth
96 watt PC, 2x 21 watt NO T5
Pressurized CO2 w/ solenoid
Flourite, Zoo Med Repti Sand in red, a dash or two of medium sand and Tahitian Moon Sand
root wood
petrified wood
