Small Tank Contest

I got an old dixie cup with some soft drink remnants in it. Something is growing well in it now. I'll add pictures when I get the chance. ;)

This is totally cool. The nano reef tanks will blow everything else away I fear. Neat stuff. Hey, T-pup, I want to see some of those gambusias!

LOL Gambusias in a 5??? That would be a tight fit since the ones I had were almost 3 inches.
Nope, hoping to put in my dwarf livebearers/Least killies in this tank with a few Amano shrimp. Tank will not need a heater, so saving money there. :)

Canister filter for 2 gallon tank

Ok let me ask this here since you all deal with tiny tanks.

I need some advice here. I have a 2 gallon tank and I have designed a canister filter for it but what I need to know is flow rate. Right now I have about 4-5 GPH. What do you all think is that enough? Right now I am using it for guppy fry, but it may house a Betta some time. I want to replace the UGF because I do not care for them. There will be little to no current created and it will use a floss filter. Any input would be appreciated. TIA

You can post your answers here so as to not totaly hi-jack this thread ;)

Unless you live in an extremely warm climate, or your house is 80 degrees day and night- no... You can heat a 2.5 gal easily with a 25 watt heater...Not a big investment to upgrade.

Hey, I'm glat to know the 25 watt thing. I have a teensie ensie heater from Waly World and I'm just not happy with how it heats. I'll upgrade!

WHen are you looking to post pics for this? I have a 2.5 with a betta at work...nothing stunning, but if you're looking for entries I'm game. I have a couple of things I want to do..just need to know when by.

The cut off date for pics and specs is Dec. 3...Judging (by popular vote by our members) the following week and tallied on the 10th of Dec. I figured that would give everyone plenty of time to cycle and get their plants to fill out...I have a little 25 watt "neptune" heater by marineland...It is temp adjustable and fully submersible, so you can lay it horizontally if you like...Thus far it has been a good little heater and keeps the 2.5 gal tank at a steady 80 degrees...
