Snails not coming out of shell?

I took them out. They still aren't coming out of their shells. They are NOT dead, though.

I tried some of Bethany's snails in the fry tank. They cruised for a while, but seem to have clammed up like the others did despite being significantly bigger and more mature. I will leave them over night, and if they stay in the same spot, I will take them out and replace them into the tupperware with the others.

I may just be reduced to not having any snails in my fry tank. :(

There is a nice coat of algae on the back glass of the fry tank. Could this have anything to do with it? And we are SURE that Copepods don't harm snails? The Planaria seems to be under control. I see MAYBE one little worm per day on the glass or floating around.

I don't think we can say for sure copepods don't harm snails, though I have not seen it. Typically in tanks with fish, the copepods get eaten.

They may not HARM them, perse, but they may irritate them enough to cause the snails to stay in their shells. I know I wouldn't want creepy crawlies all over MY body, hah.

The fact that the copepods don't harm them may explain why the snails don't die, but stay in their shells.

*sigh* What a headache.

What kind of water conditioner do you use? Mine have all closed up when I switched to Prime from Aquasafe. I will go back to aquasafe, maybe because it takes out more heavy metals and perhaps I do have copper in my pipes.
