So I'm going to get a puffer fish...

What happened to buying the pure ammonia like we talked about? stuff rotting in your tank is NOT i repeat NOT good for your tank. Read anywhere, your supposed to REMOVE uneaten food and only feed what your fish can eat, not leave it in there to rot, not even for the cycle.... (some people say it can work for the cycle, i think its gross)

to be honest kid... this is getting really frustrating... we talk about stuff and you go and ignore it, or you go and ask someone else... haven't you noticed we are all telling you the same thing?... stop asking for help and wondering why what your doings not working if your not going to listen and take the advise of the people who are giving it to you. Had you just listened to us to start this could have gone a lot smoother....

We are all willing to help, but its not fair to those of us who want to help to ask and not listen...
Ok, I will get the ammonia as soon as possible, but to be honest I don't think any store near me sells it. And nobody wants to take me to any store ATM.

walmart sells it... just make sure it contains NO additives... just ammonia...

Dumping all this crap to rot in your tank isn't good enough. By adding enough ammonia to test out at 5, you will be growing enough bacteria to support the bioload of a puffer, which eats a lot & produces a lot of waste.

.25 ppm is the same as 5 ppm, the bacteria will reproduce at the same exponential rate. The only difference is at the higher level you do not have to dose as often. Bioload-wise, you can achieve the same results.

granted, adding ammonia is a lot easier and more reliable than having something rot in the tank.

That is not true at all. The more bioload (ammonia) the more bacteria will develop to handle that bioload.

Mudskipper, How old are you?

Disregard what I said...obviously a larger bacteria colony cannot survive on the same amount of food as a smaller one...however, the growth rate is the same at the two levels.

Hooray for dumb moments...:wall:

Also I hope the brine shrimp can feed the snails AT LEAST, so they don't do any damage to the rings (which won't probably happen) or the newly installed anacharis at the corner (which will probably happen).

Nobody is motivated enough to take me still.

WELL DANG IT WAS LIKE 2:50-3:00 PM OR SOMETHING AND MY GHETTO SHELF THAT WAS SUPPORTING THE TANK WAS CREAKING. I SORTA KNEW IT WAS GONNA FALL BUT DIDN'T REALLY SEE IT COMING SO I TRIED TO SUPPORT IT. EVENTUALLY THE TOP PART OF THE SHELF CRASHED DOWN AND CAUSED THE TANK TO SLIDE OVER AND FREAKING CRASH INTO MY EQUALLY BROKEN, JACKED UP DESK, ALMOST KILLING ME. THIS CAUSED AT LEAST 3 GALLONS OF WATER TO SPILL ALL OVER MY DESK AND ON MY FLOOR AFTER WE CLEANED UP SOME TIME AGO. BUT THE DAMAGE WASN'T OVER. THIS **** FELT LIKE A ****ING 7.5 EARTHQUAKE AND MY DESK JOLTED AT LEAST A FOOT CAUSING MY TEST KIT'S TUBES TO SCATTER ALL OVER MY ROOM AS WELL AS FISH FOOD AND WATER MIXEING TOGETHER TO MAKE MY ROOM TOTALLY SMELL LIKE CRAP. MY DREAMCAST DISKS WERE TOTALLY SOAKED AND A BUNCH OF DISHES FELL EVERYWHERE. UNDER THE RETARDED SHELF MOST OF MY OLD SCHOOLWORK WAS SOAKED AND MY COMPUTER SUFFERED FROM THE SPLASH. SEVERAL PROGRAMS FROZE AND IT HAD TO TURN OFF. THIS FREAK ACCIDENT ALL HAPPENED WITHIN THE SPACE OF 3 SECONDS AND WHAT DIDN'T HELP WAS THAT MY SISTER CAME INTO THE ROOM PISSED AS HELL. I WAS JUST SITTING THERE EQUALLY ANGRY WITH MY JEANS LOOKING LIKE I URINATED INTO THEM AND I WAS TOTALLY CONFUSED. NOBODY EVEN HELPED ME FIX THE PROBLEM AND MOST OF MY ROOM IS STILL DAMAGED. EVENTUALLY I HAD TO TAKE OUT MOST OF THE WATER WITH THE SIPHON AND MOVE THE TANK AND I'M NOT SURE IF THE CYCLE WILL FINISH NOW. SO WHAT THE HELL DO I DO?

JEEZZ 2009 HAS BEEN A DIFFICULT YEAR FOR ME SO FAR.
