So who runs an under gravel filter here?(Also post your filtration setups)

I am getting ready to set up a new tank and was thinking about using a ugf filter then running a canister filter with it. I was going to tee off the main suction line and run a line into each of the tubes coming off the ugf then having one coming down in the middle of the tank so it can pull from both above the gravel and under the gravel. Can anyone tell me if this will work?
I like the idea but I have no experience at all doing so. :) IME very innovative never heard of it :headbang2:

Should work.
I'd just add something adjustable, to the open water one to restrict it's flow.

And I'd just use one UG tube. I thiink about the water under the plate creating deads spots, from both sides pulling against each other.

And not to mention, less un-real stuff in the tank.
Heaters, tubes n pumps get on my nerve. But gotta have'm, I just do what I can to limit them.

I used UGF 25 years ago they worked great.I hooked the UG to a big HOB got the siphion going and they rocked.Only keep two tanks running anymore a 30gl with an AC70 and a big box filter that I drive with a luft piston pump.I load the box filter with white dimond chips and floss.the AC 70 gets just floss and nothing more.my other tank is a 120gl running two AC110's.
