There's actually a pipeline under the substrate on that mario tank too.....and everything is made of custom painted legos. XD
But the back on your tank looks great! And sounds super convenient! Can't wait to see how it turns out! (Oh and welcome to aquaria....I'm sure you'll be addicted like the rest of us in no time!)
As far as stocking goes, I'd do three fancy goldfish. But I'm a goldfish nut. I love em, they're so full of personality and so adorable!!! Plants are hit and miss though with them, cause they LOVE to eat!!! There are some plants that are more goldfish-appropriate than others, so that just involves a bit of research and trial and error. It also depends on the fish. Some people have no problems at all and some have one that eats just about anything. I hear hornwort tends to work though, and you could always keep some plants in there as an extra veggie source if you really wanted. Apparently duckweed is goldfish crack. I don't do plants in my goldie tank, just cause I don't want the extra work, and I have one who uproots all my plastic plants so I doubt live ones would be different. Just my two-cents. Good luck, and post lots of pictures!!!
