Now I'm using that 50-gallon setup as an unofficial riparium plant propagation tank. There are plants hung on all four panes of glass. What a mess! It's not much of an aquarium display at the moment, but looks kind of cool from the top.
The Cyrtosperma johnstonii plant in my 50-gallon tank is still amazing. Look at the crazy leaf petioles on this plant.
There is another new leaf opening up. The plant is now getting to be about 30" tall and I had to raise up the light again. Here is another shot of the previous new leaf from a couple of months ago.
It looks as though the newest leaf will have even more of the gold and pink coloration.
I was over there at the garden center servicing the 55-gallon tank today and I got a couple of shots. The plants have grown up quite a bit. Here is a view in through the top.
Thanks mellowvision. Yes it was a bit too much red for me. I trimmed it down after getting that shot.
Here's a quick shot from my 15-gallon riparium setup a couple of nights ago. There's nothing much new in this tank. The plants have grown in a bit more.
This setup has been real easy care. All I do is change the water, feed the fish and clean the glass.
I put together a new blog post with descriptions of stuff that I received in a new order from Asiatica Nursery. I got two Schismatoglottis spp. plants and a couple of other fun and intriguing possibilities for riparium growing.
Its great to see something semi unique on the web for once. This is kind of giving me the idea to create an amphibian or frog variation with some lilipads and your ideas here.
