Starting up Saltwater! Woo!

sounds fun! I really can't wait to start up my sw tank! You are finding a lot of cool things lol

Yeah, sorry. Had people over :)

Here are pics of tank and fuge. I added the LR on the left today and put a peice at the back behind the 'wall' :) I will be getting a black background soon, to hide whats behind soon  I'm led to beleive the coral on the rock I got today is favia...and the coral that we couldn't ID is pysophyllia... Which is a type of chalice I think?

Params:

Ammonia - 0.5ppm
nitrite - 0
nitrate - 0

Still at the start of the cycle process.. It must be a bit of die off from the rocks.. awell.. Will still take it slow :) - This is hard. Im not a patient person but I must be for SW so I will survive. lol

pH 8.3ish
kH - 7 degreesish
Temp - 25-26C

Enjoy :D

Thanks! It is great :) the flow is perfect through the fuge. Not too much and it is going through the filter pads which is good also :)

Looking good bro.

That filter... Just an aquaclear? is that all you have on the tank for filtration?
How did you modify it?

I'm not trying to be a downer, I just need some info on SW tanks for a possibility in the future... Lol :D

Nice!

Yup just an aquaclear 70. Type in google DIY aquaclear refugium and you will see lots of versions. I'm growing like seaweed in it (macro algea) which absorbs nutrients like nitrates. Then I cut it out hence exporting the nutrients :) the LR is the primary filtration on SW tanks. That why you need flow as well

Thanks greech :)
