Stocking a 29

i disagree. my gobies arnt a very active creature. a bonded pair would be fine but i wouldnt put any more than 1 in there otherwise due to conspecific aggresion. they should be fine in a 29, just depends on what species your putting it with. i keep one in a 55, and one in a 30. they couldnt be kept in the 55 together anymore. i havnt read anything on the tank limitations of a goby cichlid but i dont see why it couldnt be kept in a 29.

Picses d@mn it!!! :D

dont have any recent pics. i wouldnt be able to get a good one of my goby in the 30. the walls are coated in a layer of algae (i need to scrub it i just havnt had time DARN YOU HIGH INTENSITY LIGHTING!!!) but i have some pictures of them in one of my albums from when they still cruised with one another in peace.

Guys, how many xenotilapia flavipinnis could go in a 29? Anyone have experience with these guys?

maybe 5. but i wouldnt do it in the long run. they will eventually outgrow it. they need more space to move around and sift the sand. unless they are a breeding group but even than i wouldnt recomend it at all.

yeah. i felt the same way. you can keep them in there. they just wont be happy in there when full grown so youd eventually have to put them in a bigger tank. but you could raise them in there.

I don't like having to get rid of fish as the grow up. Ironically, I've had a lot of cichlids, and I've only had maybe one or two until they totally grew up.

I have a proven pair of Australoheros oblongum available that would fit your tank and criteria, but they're SA cichlids, not African.

Hey Aj,
You might want to consider the Australoheros oblongum. I just purchased a pair from Toddnbecka. They're wonderful fish. At least they fascinate me.
