how does this sound:
1-dwarf gourami
4- panda cory cats
4- black skirt tetras
4- sunburst platy

is that a good idea?? any other suggestions??

The black skirts are in too small a number and too small a tank. They max out around 2.5", they look bigger though. If you took them off the list, you'd be maxed out fish wise.

You would need at least 6, although they could replace the platies.

It's a lot of work to maintain good water in a small, overstocked tank, so maybe do just one "showy", colorful school of fish and make it a little bigger i.e. 6 tetras or 6 platys, with the 1 dwarf gourami and a small school of 3-4 corys. All your water levels are covered, your fish will be happier with the bigger school size, and you won't be quite so overstocked.

Too many platies, keep in mind they can reach 2.5"

1-Honey Gourami
6- Pygmy cories
6- Neon tetras

Would make for a cool tank. I think your list is pushing it with the Platies IMO.
