stocking idea for a 15 gallon..please comment!!

then i think i would like to do the following:
1 gourami
3 panda cories
4 sunburst platies
4 black phantom tetras

is there a type of cory other than panda that would have a bright color to match the sunburst platies and honey gourami?

Unless you want to spend 8-10$ each for laser colours and buy them online, there aren't any bright cories.

Blue gouramis get 4-6", way too big for a 15g.

Honey and dwarf (normal colouration) gouramis are both great.

Please take into consideration that the tetras need a school of 6 and the pandas a group of 4, your stocking idea is, IMHO, too tight and with disproportionate stocking (IE the schooling stuff I said). If you want black phantoms, I would make the stocking:

1 small gourami
6 black phantoms
3 male platies

OR

1 small gourami
6 black phantoms
4 cories

OR

6 black phantoms
3 male platies
4 cories

You might prefer idea #1 since there are virtually no brightly coloured corydoras.

ive seen some cories with blue n red strips before the tail. wot type is it??

Never heard of them, a picture or a name has to be given. Are you sure they're cories?

to be honest, cory cats are the main reason i want a tank. what if i go with the following:
1 honey gourami
6 sunburst platies
4 panda cories...

if i cut the sunburst down to 3, is there any other type of fish or something i can throw in there and it will still be alright
