Sunlight’s tank journal

I did a thing today... took me 7 hours total

A video of me cleaning and feeding my tank FooTheFlowerhorn style. The beginning is boring but the ending is kinda cool

So, I assume your name is Courtney? It's a very good video, I really like its aquascape a lot, haven't you thought about adding some dwarf gouramis? They are magnificent fish, I have a croaking gourami and I love the behavior they have.

Dwarf gourami (Colisa lalia) is a fish that shouldnt be kept in an aquarium smaller than 20 gallons. Two males of the species will be aggressive in a smaller tank. The minimum IMO for two males is a 5ft tank. I hope I didnt sound rude and didn't offend you.

I have thought about getting sparkling gourami before, but right now the only fish I feel comfortable putting in the tank is Reggie. I have a feeling he wouldn’t take to Gouramis very well lol.

Amazoniantanklvr, don't worry man. I don't mean the colisa species, I mean the smaller gouramis like trichopsis or parosphromenus species, maybe 1 or 2. This aquarium is 10 gallons, I don't forget.
OOh. By dwarf I thought you meant the real dwarf. Sparklers would be good...…...…………………………….

Professional video ! Tank looks very nice and careful maintenance. Isn't that Cyanobacteria on the back glass or does that just look like it?

so sorry that I'm just now seeing this! Thank you! and it's a cyano/blackbeard/green spot/green hair mixture that's pretty much always been there since the dawn of time. lol. Every time my nerite goes to that wall she completely devours the whole thing, then she moves on to the rest of the tank and it will grow back. She won't eat anything but real algae, so I don't want to starve her by removing it constantly like I do the rest of the tank.

Don't feel bad, green or black algae are a natural thing and normal in small amounts in healthy tanks. If anything the back or sides are a great place for it, and you have a living, natural backdrop. Cyanobacteria on the other hand... I wouldn't remove the real algae from the back, just siphon the BGA off the glass to keep it in check.
