teenagers of AC

Heh, my first car is gonna be my moms old suberu. 2001 model, bought in 2003, last revamp in 2005. Busted bumper, 1 headlight is busted perpetually, some holes on the inner liner of the ceiling from that time we managed cram a full sized, premade desk and shelf into the back... ah, I love that old jeloppy. And the best part, I don't have to pay for it, just gas and insurance >:D

As for tanks, I've got a 75gal, but thats about the max size and number (in my moms opinion). You win User.

I have the tanks, but I'm still trying to get the money together to get some really nice silk plants for my 125 and schoolers for the 55. The Jurupari are starting to uproot some of the plants, so I'm either trading in some plants or moving them to the 37. This is a bummer too, because my apongeton had been flowering the past week or so, which is pretty cool.

Any other tennis bros out there? This is my first year, and it's been pretty awesome.

I'm 12 and soon I'm getting a 30 gallon SW with FOWLR. I'm fairly new you can find me in general FW a lot. I'm on until 11 every night. (my parents think I'm sleeping)

I used to do that every night. Until I was like yeah I dont care anymore and started staying up and they seemed to not care as long as I was making it to school on time. HAHHA.

I typically sleep from 5pm-9pm, and then from 2am or 3am to 7am, I feel so much more awake during the day this way.

I like playing tennis once in a while, but the tennis team at school is bad.

I applied for a few jobs, bestbuy, and petco. I was going to apply for radioshack and petsmart but both of those require you to be 18.

Bestbuy was a no go because they put a hiring freeze in effect because of what is going on with their company right now, and they just closed 6 stores around here, so they are moving people around.

Petco, I need to call and see when the hiring manager will be there. But the people that were there yesterday seemed positive.

Up next is target because my dad knows the hiring manager there and they are always hiring. But, I am probably going to start looking around at other places too. But honestly, im trying to find a car :) My parents said that I cant get a car until I get a job. I have 1k and my parents will match that. So I can have a $2000 down payment then start making monthly payments, probably for 12 months depending on the orig cost of the car. But I am looking in the 3k range, so probably about $95 a month for 12 months. Not too bad at all. Either that, or my parents buy the car, and I either choose to buy it from them after high school, or they keep it for when my little bro starts driving. (by then it will be right about time too). Or something similar, like they buy it and I pay them or something like that. I have a bunch of friends that have cars that were given to them by their parents. Like my friend drives an 06 acura tl that his dad gave him. But if I pay for the car I get, then I will physically own it and my parents cant take it. (not like they would really want to when they drive nicer cars.) Where if his dad really wants to, he can take the acura back whenever he wants.

I wish my parents respected the fact I own things. I own MY life and they shouldn't try to control it.

WOW, strong words man. I think the same thing sometimes. But in the end, they are trying to help you if it seems like it or not. Trust me, my dad made me apply for a job at target, and I didnt even want to. And he is going to contact the hiring manager (an old friend) to see if she will at least look at my application. I wouldnt mind a job at Target, and getting a job means I get a car :) Which means I can go places without them. (not doing anything stupid or anything like that) But like going to the hobby store or to go buy something without needing to consult them first. In the end it is a win win for me if I get the job because i get money and I get a car. Not like I have much of a social life during the school year anyway. And I can get to and from school when I want to. (I stay after for the science olympiad team). Obviously I will have to work, which gets in the way of things. But its not like I am going to work every day of the week as a student. I am open to every day, but my dad has been a manager for stores (including target) longer than I have been alive, and has never had a student work every day of the week. I am fine with one day off each week during the school year. During the summer, I will want to work full time instead of part time, but get say 1.5-2.5 days off.

It's one thing for them to offer advice or tell you to do something when you need it, but when my mom nags me about picking up my clothes in the morning or something like that it bothers me a lot. (we end up late by a minute sometimes because of that)
