Yes we are but haven't gotten to that point yet. I had asked if we could get that setup and running before the tank is done and get the first fish we are going to put in the tank in a few weeks so that when there ready to come out of QT that then the tank will be ready. I think that is what we are going to do.
Yeah I just have to get the parts together. I have asked this before but I would like as many points of view as possible. Do you have to cycle a QT tank?
No. However....because mine wasn't cycled and I had no seeded media I had to deal with doing large daily water changes when I used it the first time. I highly recommend in your case you get it started now and in addition you put an extra pad or whatever media it uses into your sump or display to seed and use for the next time you need the QT. This way you won't have to keep the QT running all the time in the future.
Not exactly. Instead, I'm suggesting you take a spare filter pad or whatever your filter uses and put it into the main setup so you'll have it the next time you need the QT and you won't have to deal with a big cycle at that time.
