The 75gal reef tank cycle has started!!!!!!!

Well now we are just waiting for the dust to settle. It's amazing how fine the sand dust is.

Yup. it will take a day or 2 to settle down. It would go faster if you put some fine filter pad and the bottom of your overflow where it enters the sump, but really isn't needed unless you want it to clear up a few hours faster.

Looks like you've done your homework and are starting off the right way. (Very smart) Good work so far. Looking forward to the progression of your tank. :)

Well I put a peace of filter floss in the bubble trap. I not sure if it's fine enough to help but it can't hurt. We are talking about getting a polisher bag for that pipe.

Thanks allot! Yeah I just hope I can be patient.

We are thinking of doing the pure ammonia for the cycle instead of the shrimp. We live in an apartment and can't have anything stinking.

Just out of curiousity, what happened to the product called "Cycle"? It has been a long time since I setup a tank from scratch, but years ago when I did that was what was told to me from LFS to use to "bump start" the cycle.

Yeah I guess so. I'm allot newer then you so I'm just doing what I'm told for the most part.

I'm wondering when I should start putting the ammonia in?
