Thoughts On This Off-Brand Filter

topdogsellers is a great guy to buy from, i have bought many sump return pumps and different things and never a problem. i been looking at that filter it looks pretty good i like the see thru canister.

I have also been looking at that filter but without flow design specs I have been reluctant and waiting for a review. From what I can see the intake is a center strainer like the magnum which means that the flow must take place from the outer circumference of the filter sponge to the center. If that is the case then the filtering surface area is huge. Since the sponge diameter is 9" the circumference must be 28" and since the height of the sponge stack is about 18" minus the valve height, the surface area would be 28"X 18" and equal a total filtering surface area of approximately 400 to 500 square inches of filter surface area which is more then 4 times the surface area of the largest home stacked basket canister filter made.

So its quite promising especially for the price. You should buy it and post a review.

It's hard to say if it is a circumference type filter or not...It looks like it is but why then would the media be stacked vertically?
I really loath Jebo products but this looks interesting!

i have a jebo/odyssea cfs4 canister and have had only one problem with it started to leak aorund the spot the hoses hooked to. replaced thoes rubber o rings with some from auto part store and never leaked again. its been up and running for 8 or so monthes with only one little hiccup.

so with my experience with jebo stuff ide get that filter and try it with out a second thought

Well you were lucky, I had a csf4 that leaked at the motor head all over my cabinet and floor, ran fine for a year or so before that.

alot of horror stories abound about fluval's leaking all over also. i think most of the time parts being broken and etc. is because people are in a hurry and try and force parts together instead of taking the time to see why it wont fit.
i know i have done that a few times myself and i know im not alone in doing that.
i have used just about every brand of canister filters made before i switched all my tanks over to wet dry filters. I had good luck with "cheapo" chinese brands as well as "famous" named ones.
topdogsellers has a very good feedback rating he sells tons of different stuff on ebay and has for a while i have spent alot of money on his items and he is good to deal with.
people who have bought this filter listed above all have left good feedback ratings and he has sold alot of them and i have found NOT one bad comment or anything about them.
so i would assume people like them and are happy with them or else we would have read some nasty comments by now on the internet.
for the price its well worth giving them a try, they are made by ODYSSEA. i have several odyssea sump pumps i have been using well over a year and they work like the day i hooked them up no issues. and i have several odyssea powerheads and the same with them no issues for over a year. i think the sump pumps cost me 25.00 when i bought them each and pump 800GPH so i think they are well worth the cost compared to name brand sump return pumps and he even threw in the black return duck bill pipe that hangs on the tank for the pumps.
i have 3 new odyssea sump pumps i keep on hand in case of a failure and they are still stored away in the closet havent had to replace one yet.

I totally agree. I've done this so many times and stopped myself short of trying to force my Marineland C-360 top back onto the canister. I know I would've easily broken something if I had tried forcing it, but it usually was a simple fix of wiggling the baskets down a little more so that the top could fit in there. I think you are so right that people try forcing it and break something. It's so easy to do with almost any equipment, not just canisters.
