ughhhhh husbands can i use this for my fish tank

What all do you add to the tank chemical wise? The actual product "cycle" should not affect the ph, and is not really useful in terms of bacteria and helping get the tank cycled. Since you have fish already, daily water changes (or at least enough to keep amonia and nitrite to 0) are all that will get the tank on the right track. I'm sure its been recommended to you a thousand times, but you've read the cycling stickys right :) ? It will help you understand what is going on. If you don't have your own test kits, the 2 mentioned above are pretty crucial. Check out www.bigalsonline.com, they sell a master test kit for pretty cheap and it has everything you would need

the only chemicals i have put into my tank are stress coat by aquaruim pharm the cycle which my LFS told me would lower the ph as much as they know and this stuff called acurelf to keep the tank clear it says you can use it every day so i been putting in about 5 -7 drops a day with each change and thanks i will check out that site because all the pet stores i have been into dont have a complete kit i would have to buy each test sepertaly and im not sure which ones to really buy yet would be helpful if i could find one that has everything i need in it and some insturctions on how to read the results lol

You really want to avoid any uneccesary chemicals, they usually do more harm than good, plus they cost money that you don't need to spend!! This fishkeeping stuff can be expensive as it is!! I would stop using both the cycle and the water clear stuff. Also, next time you're out, have your ph checked again (along with everything else) and have them give you actual numbers, don't just let them tell you that things are "fine". Chances are your ph is just fine and most fish would be able to adjust to whatever it is. In the odd case you do need to change it, there are natural ways (not chemicals) that keep it stable (which most chemicals let it fluctuate, which is really bad)

I was too lazy before, heres the link to the test kit... I've bought each separate before and they cost about 5 dollars+ each

thank you i have to go to the LFS tomorrow i just took the day off lol heres another silly question tho i just did my kids weekly water change on there little 2 and half gallon tank and i notice there is alot of fish poo in there stones when i pour the water in the poo flew all around the tank should i with the next change take half the water put it in another small tank and move the fish to it while i clean there tank out then put in half a tank of clean water and dump the old water and the fish back in i havent done that with either of my tanks i have just been taking out half the water and putting clean back in am i doing this wrong

Dont' move the fish from the 2 1/2 gallon tank when you do the next water change...do you have a gravel siphon you could use to clean the poo from the gravel? You really shouldn't change more than half the water at once. If you don't have one, you should get one as it will be needed for the other tank too. You won't have to vacuum the gravel in the 10 gallon until it's been a month or so, but you can use it in the other one until then. If you just tear that little tank down to clean everything and scrub it all, your bio-filter will be completely gone.

I know you said you'd not use the ReptiSafe in your fishtank...don't, just cuz it's so frickin expensive! Stick with the Stress Coat or try Prime when you need more water conditioner. Prime is pretty economical since even the smallest bottle they sell will treat 500 gallons of water.

Stop worrying about pH. 7.5-7.8 is not all that high and fiddling with it will cause more trouble. I wanna go to Albany and whoop some bad-advice giving butt at the pet shop you've been going to! Grrrr...

lol sexy eyes you have no idea how bad i wanna slap them at petco i dont have one of those rock cleaners where can i get one and how much are they and how do they work for that matter wont it suck the water from my tank and i will try the prime i have to get some more because when i bought the tank i only bought a small bottle of the stress coat not thinking i would have to use it more then once they had me thinking the filter cleaned everything from my water this time i will by the huge bottle and have it when it is needed

You can get a gravel siphon at any store selling aquarium supplies. They aren't real expensive for a small one. You'll need a bucket too, make sure it is a clean one that hasn't had anything like soap in it, not even once. I like to buy new 5 gallon buckets at Wal-Mart. They're only a little over $3. The gravel vacuum will take water out of your tank while you clean the gravel, but that's gonna be doing the water change at the same time.

^^ your posts are very difficult to read and understand.

no offense, but may i suggest punctuation?

lilred.
1) YOU PH IS FINE FORGET ABOUT IT.

2) THE GRAVEL SYPHON IS ALSO CALLED A GRAVEL VACUUM. YES IT TAKES WATER OUT ALONG WITH THE POOP AND STUFF.
THAT IS GOOD BECAUSE THAT IS HOW YOU TAKE OUT WATER FOR THE WATER CHANGE. GET ONE. USE IT.

3) ADD THE STRESS ZYME TO THE NEW WATER FROM THE TAP EVERYTIME BEFORE YOU ADD IT TO THE TANK. tHAT WILL TAKE OUT THE CHLORINE. THAT IS BASICALLY ALL IT WILL DO.

4) THE PEOPLE AT THE PET STORE WILL ONLY CONFUSE YOU. STOP LISTENNING TO THEM.

5) YOU NEED 3 TESTS. AMMONIA, NITRITE, NITRATE.
THEY COME WITH INSTRUCTIONS.
BUY THEM, USE THEM, COME HERE WITH QUESTIONS.

6) I AM NOT YELLING AT YOU. ;) JUST TRYING TO GET YOUR ATTENTION
:D

ok i think i have good news i went to petsmart today instead of pet co i got the mardel starter test strips i stuck the strip in and here are my results
chlorine 0
nitrite 0.5 got darker the longer the test strip sat after 30 seconds was still reading 0
hardness is 120
and ph around 7.6 but got darker the longer the test strip sat
i hope these are good readings i also got a few plactic plants for them as i couldnt find any silk ones ( said there deliverys was late due to the hurricane )
i also bought stress zyme and some aqua safe to take the cholorine out (they were also out of stress coat )
