Unknown plants

The first plant is somtimes called a Purple Waffle or Hemigraphis exotica. It is NON-aquatic so you would not want to use it. I have never seen the second plant before. It does resemble a plant I have growing in my flower beds outside.

ive seen the second one before... and if i remember correctly it wasnt aquatic.... cant think of its name :look:

The second one looks like some kind of Dracaena. Not aquatic.

At some Petsmarts, they also sell these packaged plants. I usually look at the text, and if they mention the use in terrariums separately from the use in aquariums, it's usually safe to assume that the plant isn't aquatic.

Thanks Ulan. I suspected that it wasn't.

They just had the plants in the water, no tags, nothing to identify them. The only tag said "Assorted Aquarium Plants, Potted".

I told my wife that I doubted they were aquatic, but we'd check here to make sure.

So the quest for a colorful centerpiece plant continues...

man, that's messed up! doesn't suprise me though. it is walmart. evil corporation.

Here are tow plants my wife would like to try, they came from water, and are in typical aquarium pots, but I have my doubts as to what they are, and if they're even aquatic.

Any guesses as to their identity?
The second one is Dracaena marginata....NOT an aquatic plant. It will rot eventually and contaminate your water column.
