Was a good day for deer hunting.

If you take the back strip (tender loin) and pound it with a tenderizer and then slice it. Get some fajita marinade and let the strips sit in the marinade for about 30 mins. Cook and yum Deer fajitas.

That sounds good. All I have had is venison bugers, and they were good too.

Deer on the highways sounds like a bad time! And a worse time on a motorcycle at night.. ..Ouch...
Luckily it's not a real bad problem down here, and the Florida deer have been nick-named "Florida dog deer". There's not much weight to most of them.

Hey msouth, if ya'll wind up with too much venison send some this way. I usually hunt every year but working too much this year. Didn't even get on a lease. I bought a new .308 last year that was touching rounds at 200 yards. I can't wait to get Mr. Pointyface in the crosshairs. I wired a buddy's house last summer and was supposed to get a hunt out of it. Since the season's over I guess that turned into a pig hunt...if it's cold enough to shoot one.

I might have to. If you tally up the deer my group has gotten so far we are at about 43. And 12 of those are quartered up and sitting in my freezer waiting for me to process them.

15 Deer between 6 hunters. Not bad for the season. Of course we should shoot about 150 deer. There is way to many and not enough licenses.

I don't get why people feels good at killing animals. How would you like to be pursued in the woods by someone holding a gun? Why don't you make it fair and try to kill the deer with your hands?

If you accept being the prey, I will finally understand "sport" hunting.

Sounds like you did pretty good. I hunt in northern Maine where the herd is slim compared to most places. We can only shoot one deer a year and it has to be a buck (unless you're a junior hunter or are archery hunting). I haven't filled my tag for the past two years. Not that I couldn't have, but I've been after one particular buck. Some tenderloin would taste really good right about now!

So we should strangle deer instead of humanely killing one with a well-placed bullet? As hard as it may be for anti-hunters to understand, hunters aren't bloodthirsty killers. We don't kill because we enjoy killing, it is the hunt itself that is the enjoyable part. It is a neverending debate that I am not about to get into. If you have never done it there is no way you can understand it. I will leave it at that.

I don't hunt myself but have no problems when people hunt for food. Something must die when we eat. That's the way it is. Anyway it's not like they are hunting rhinos or pandas.

I could never hunt myself, just couldn't do it. I however have no moral qualms over deer hunting. I know that it is a neccissary thing. In area's where deer are not hunted, there become some pretty horrible situation for the deer. They do not have natural predators (at least not here in Indiana) and there is no population control. When overpopulation happens, the deer suffer disease and starvation from over competition for food. Then what you are left with is a deer population loaded with disease, parasites, and slowly starving. The hunters are the only current remedy for the situation. I have NO problems with hunting as long as it is hunted for food. I have ate deer and many other "meats" throughout my life and I love deer meat. My families native american heritage makes me appreciate the beauty of the animal and the gift of their life for sustanance. Yep, I come from a family of hunters and my family has hunted for hundreds of years.
