A lot of oddballs are more expensive than "normal" fish.

yeah..... i'd say your best bet would be a ABF or a bichir, but make sure that the bichir is not one that gets over 12".

Try a rubber worm. actually they are an amphibian, but I have been keeping one for 3 years. I think it is about as odd as you will find. Mine is very peaceful and lives in my planted 125g discus tank.

When you say rubber worm, do you mean a caecillian? Just curious and nosy...

Yes, "rubber worm" is a common trade name for a caecillian.

The elephant nose is definately an odball but I have heard they like really calm tankmates or they get stressed. Well, good luck.

This is a cool oddball and they only cost like 15 bucks... They are allways stressed. They will adapt to you and eventually come out to see you during the day... They are mostly active at night.
