Can't stand them. Cant stand the noise they make most of all. What is the desire to have a car that sounds like a lawn mower? I'll accelerate faster then them, and their cars sound like they are working 3x as hard. I wish I had a spike strip to throw out in front of my house when I knew they were comming. :dance2:
I know, I know. Just funning with you, since I can't stand the noise, either. Without intake mods, the exhaust noise sounds terrible, and it's just an easy way to get burned exhaust valves. Still, these guys think it's cool, even though I get better noise from sticking a playing card in the spokes of a spinning bicycle wheel.

I do like some of the front end and body kits that are available...not that I'd get one, ever, but they are definitely more tastefully executed nowadays than just a few years ago. Before, the cars ended up looking like a badly assembled Monogram Snap-Tite auto model.

Maybe I'll get a Yuban can, chrome it, and stick it on the end of my wife's Honda Odyssey...oh, forget that, I'll put it on mine! :duh:

<--- chalk up another one for the anti-ricer crowd.

Can't stand 'em. I'm all for modifying cars, and have modified a few of my own. But do it right. Cutting springs, exhaust, and body kits are not great mods, IMHO.

If you are talking about the vehichle we drive it would be a FORD RANGER (purple) and i love it as for as others that i own would be a 83 bronco (hubbys toy) 88 Jimmy (hubby DEAD toy) old acheiva (aslo dead) and a 90 Hyundai (still runnin barely!)

Other German, you didn't list a single german car. Also, jap is a derogatory term, does it really take that much time to type out Japanese?

BMW BABY!
Jap is derogitory, jap. is not. The period denotes abreviation. ;)

How about multiple vehicle owners? Datsun, Pontiac, Chevrolet, and hopefully soon, International.

Me..Ford Sport Trac 4 wheel drive...
Wife..Ford Mustang...

we have had nothing but Fords since 1994.

I know this was touched on earlier in the thread, but a lot of manufacturers share ownership in other makes. My chevy hav a suzuki motor, MOPAR and miztubishi are bunkmates (look at the dodge stealth/Mitz GTO, or eagal tallon/mitz. eclipse).

Part of the reason cars today are made so cheaply, especially in the US, is it is a way to keep emmissions down. A lot of older cars with emmissions problems are being phased out. In california, vehicles older than 1995(I think?) need to go to special smog test stations ($$$$) to be sure EVERYTHING is in order. New advancements in emmissions controlls are coming out frequently, and the government doesnt want a bunch of outdated smog equipment running arround out there. Rather than make folks either add emmissions controll features, or cause headaches for them when they cant pass smog, they make them cheap so they brake and folks have to replace them with new, up to date vehicles that have nice low emmissions #s

Sheesh.

I really don't understand how someon gets roasted for racist language saying "Jap" when "anti-ricer" is here in attendance. A "ricer" is typically a motorcycle, not that I would use either term anyways.

My 2002 Honda Civic EX isn't spicked-out (hey while people are throwing around racially insensitive phrases I figure let's be equal opportunity) and it's great. I bought it for the gas milage, not so I could hack it up. It has been the best car I've ever owned, foreign or domestic.

As soon as an American car builder makes a car as good I'll buy it. I am glad I'll never have to worry about that happening.

ricer has been used for years to define a typically japanese manufactured car that has been distastefully modified. It has nothing to do with rice, rice eating, etc. rice-rocket is a typical motorcycle term, not ricer.

and way to stoop to my level :thm: :hang: :D :bowing:

NEW BEETLE ALL THE WAY!!!! Gotta love the "made in mexico" German engineering. BWA HA HA!
