I never separate a pregnant female livebearer. I enjoy diving in for the hunt & netting them [fry] out one by one. I agree with the Zen experience thing regarding hands-on water changes, using buckets. Although a very physical experience, it is surely an enjoyable one. I love it.
1. I have carbon but do not use it.
2. 20% water changes weekly (most of the time).
3. I keep guppies and angels together with no "snacks" incurred.
4. I don't normally QT anything but am very careful about whom I get things from.
5. I don't regularly test my params although I do own a test kit.
6. I do a "head" count at least daily.
7. I feed my fish/inverts twice a day.
8. I over feed.
9. All of my tanks have at least 2 filters, some 3.
10. All of my wood and large rocks come from my local lake. (and I just rinsed and plopped them in)
I think that is it for now. I am sure I will come up with more though.
This is my favorite thread in a long time. Heres what works for me...
I have flushed a live fish down the toilet, more than once
I fast my tanks 2 times a week
I may stick my hand in a tank without washing first
I may miss a week of water changes if i'm really busy
I turn on tank lights if I am home and they could be on all day
6 Silver Hatchets jumped out of my tank the same night and I lost them all
I spend way to much money at the LFS
I have this forum open all day at work
