What would you like to see in a lfs?

PLANTS!! I am sick of going to any lfs, some even two hours away, and being stuck with a TERRIBLE selection of plants. it kills me. Get some cool plants, and have one of the tanks with co2 and such, so you can get some harder to keep plants. I am always presented with hornwort, and some green and red myrio. ITs hard to find beautiful plants around here

Good recommendations by Death Pony! What about elephant noses? Sorry if that's already been said, too lazy to read everything haha.

I wish LFS would sell seeded filter media so people could instantly cycle their brand new tanks and there would be less fish loss. Would be cheap to set up and you could make a killing on it.

Very interesting idea! You could sell precycled filter media, gravel, who knows what! I don't think this is normal but my LFSs don't sell ammonia for fishless cycles, you could do that. You could sell starter cultures of live food too!

Aw. I'm sorry that was insensitive of me

No no, don't worry! We can't all keep track of everyone's issues, eh? For all I know, you might have bad memories associated with the word 'banana'. :D

I'm just still in that 'why me' stage. :)

Here is what I would like to see at more LFS.
-Mopani and Manzanita driftwood in a wide range of sizes
-quality filters, including sponge filters
-a variety of healthy plants
-various rock for hardscapes

and for fish
-Dario dario (of course)
-Badis badis
-Pseudomugils
-sparkling, licorice, and (if possible) chocolate gouramis
-killies
-dwarf crays
-pygmy cories
-Hara jerdoni
-Boraras, Microrasboras, and other nano fish
-CPDs
-Rasbora sarawakensis
-Rummynose rasboras
-some of the more unusual barbs, like filaments and odessas
-wild livebearers (platies, swordtail, and mollies)
-Goodeids
-halfbeaks
-Exodon paradoxus
-Stiphodon gobies
-smaller knifefish (African browns and centipedes)
-puffers
-payara
-polypterus
-wild bettas

Basically, anything that makes you do a double take and say WTF or "WOW!"
I cannot emphasis how much I would love to see wild variety livebearers. They will breed in the tank, and they're just as beautiful as the captive varieties. Girardinus metallicus would sell, size of guppies and beautifully colored.

Great ideas!!!!

Lol, Brent just GIVES that stuff away. All you have to is ask, and he'll give you a hunk. He seeded my tank!
