Which do you prefer? Bettas or Gouramis.

Definitely Bettas. I love their personalities. The last fish I had with as much personality as a Betta, was an Oscar. Never thought you could squeeze that much personality into a 2 1/2 inch fish! I also love the look of wilds, and half moon plakats.

Wild bettas are beautiful. I find the splendens to be...consumer mainstream, if that makes any sense.

I like a gourami, as well. If I HAD to choose, I'd go gourami.

I love my dwarf gourami's. Besides my first was magic- Night after I put him in the tank- my cloudy water was clear, and the ghost shrimp that killed and ate all my Red Cherrys was no more and I haven't had a problem with the tank yet.. Though he did eat all my platys fry through the slits in the breeder box...
