Water parameters as of now (and the last few days): temp 25.7C, pH 7.6 (normal for here), Ammonia 0, Nitrites 0, Nitrates 10-20
Nitrates may have gone up slightly from yesterday. I removed another dead cory this morning so that's 3 confirmed deaths. Can only see one active, hoping the other 2 are just snoozing somewhere......... ? ?
Going to do a water change now.
I've always been a 'light' feeder since I had a goldfish get swim bladder... I believe it's better to underfeed than overfeed your fish. However after I'd had the cories for a few weeks I read that they should be 'fat' so since then I've been feeding quite a lot. I figured that seeing as I had a 'clean up crew (the cories) that they should eat leftover food so I should have too much problem anyhow.
However... is there a possibility that my filter is too efficient? There's not a 'strong' flow as such... but my cannister is slightly overrated for my tank size (Aquis1200 for 160L) and the tubes are really gunky (had it 3 months). I'd wondered if a lot of fish food ended up stuck in the tubes... which means my cories may not have been getting a lot of chance to finish off all that food. Any chance they're slow eaters...?
Here are my first two dead cories. The second one had a hole underneath and looked pretty hollow inside... may have just been dead a few days, but...?
I posted all the details of my cories in the FW threads but haven't had any comments as to whether they look 'healthy' or not. Just comments on water quality etc. Wondering if I should re-post it all in the cories thread or whether people kind of see them all anyway....
