Would buiding and using a DIY co2 generator be dangerous/illegal for a 15 year old to

Most of the world seems to get by without such a draconian limit, though, goldfish. I just find it a little strange that a country that prizes personal freedom to such an extent has some of the most restrictive alcohol laws in the world, outside of Islamic states.

My understanding is that it actually has something to do with federal funding; memory is hazy and I expect some stateside posters can fill me in, but wasn't there some funding which was restricted to states which set an age 21 limit?

Edit - found it:

The National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 required all states to raise their minimum purchase and public possession of alcohol age to 21. States that did not comply faced a reduction in highway funds under the Federal Highway Aid Act.

Actually, lots of interesting details here: http://www2.potsdam.edu/hansondj/LegalDrinkingAge.html

Federal highway funding would have been withheld from any state which didn't raise the limit to 21.

One has to admit the American psyche is unique. Body count on some regular network shows can be 1/2 a dozen or more and nobody bats an eyelash. Some pop star flashes her boob and there's national outrage.

belive me after 53 years , america has some of the dumbest laws in the world...as for the original question, i highly doubt that any police officer would ever try to arrest you for a diy co2 setup

The alcohol produced by a DIY CO2 reactor is extremely minimal. It's not like you're running a still in your basement.

Yeah along with everyone else, the alcohol is a minute amount. Once you smell it anyways, you'll realize you couldn't sell the stuff anyway, I almost hurled the first time i opened the top to my DIY bottle. Don't even worry about anything, the worst that could happen is you can spill it on your rug and make it wretch for weeks.
If your getting into Planted tanks, a quick DIY is one of the greatest things you can do without money.

i did DIY last year and no troubles, it is not illegal because you are making it for CO2 and the alchol is just a byproduct of that. you will be fine, and you wont want to drink it, it burns your nose like hell and it just smells gross.
i read this and weeelll lets just say this popped into my head:"and how do we know this?"

yeah america has some pretty dumb laws, some of you guys should hear of the laws the states make, like i think somewhere its illegal to put a donkey in your bathtub.

i'm gonna have to see the answer to question 1 bob.

i'm pretty sure in one state it's illegal to build a house in the middle of the street. i don't know who comes up with this crap but there's cause and effect. the cause had to be someone doing something dumb enough for the law to be created.

there are some wacky people out there in the world. apparently they all make their way here and get caught doing stupid things or become politicians. :lipssealedsmilie:

I guess I have to inform my husband that he's possibly breaking the law when he takes a bath. ( harharhar)

Sorry for the off topic brief hijack, it was irresistable.:duh:
