WTF...How rude!

I know I have you guys. But sometimes the advice given here is contradictory and it can get frustrating if I need help fast. I try to use the advice I get on here to guide my research. Unfortunately, I don't have much time to do research, so I tried to go straight to the source for an answer.

Well sorry to those who dissagree... It *IS* his job as a breeder to give advice. We sell border collies and if we expect people to look after them correctly, we sure better be willing to give any and all advice we can when people ask for it. If you aren't prepared to follow up on any animal you breed and sell, then you should not breed, period.

but thats how you run your business. fish is a product your paying for it not the service. if you want to add service its up to you unless its in the contract for the added support.

Fwiw it's not their responcibility to care for your fish. there's auto feeders available. killies are not that sensitive, I would be more concerned to leave my discus for that long w/o attention then killies

Come on people, if this guy worked at Petsmart everyone here would be up in arms over it. My husband and I own a business, we sell a "product", not a service, and would never treat a customer that way unless it was someone who'd acted like a jerk in the past. We're always available for advice on anything sell. That really is your job, not just for a breeder but for a dealer of any product.

FWIW, I think the guy was just messing with you. Its really hard to take things the way they are meant online. Thats why smilies are so important. Look at his words with a positive frame of mind, and you may see that he indeed was making a joke. I make those kind of jokes all the time...and lol is my favorite line to show that I am joking..

Someone did tell me once tho "If no one around you thinks your joke is funny, then you should probably stop making them" . Go figure. Think this person needed to get a sense of humor..lol

Hmm. Surely you expect at least some after sales service on ANY product you buy. I certainly do. And any breeder who cares anything about fish (or any animal) should care enough to see the owner get advice they need so the animal is looked after correctly.

Going by the advice, this breeder doesn't seem to care too much about fish.

I think you need to look at geographical differences. the way people respond to one another, may percieved as rude by us but normal to them.

case in point..I had a lead who was from sweden..his response to our questions were curt and seemed rude..but in reality he was just responding the way he thought was normal..not rude.

one thing missing in e-mail communications is visible expressions, voice influctions and gestures.e-mail is NOT the best method of cummunication.

his response to you seemed rude to me too..but...

everyone has a valid point on your sides of the fence, but its a business and should have been worded more professionally.
i own my own business and ill be ****** if i gave that attitude i get a return customer
