ROFL:laugh: :laugh: I was going to say that!!

I did have my cheque book and driving licence stolen when I was on a training course for a new job. It had to be one of my new "workmates" that stole it as well. Luckily they only "spent" £15 before I cancelled it!

My identity.
Took 2 years to straighten out my credit.

When I was walking around Downtown Mpls. I had my bike and my backpack with me, and a homeless guy walked up and asked me if I had any money on me I could borrow him. I said no and then out of no where his friend came and ripped the backpack off my back and he grabbed the bike from me and they both took off...backpack and bike...I went to the police to file a report because I had close to a hundred in my money purse in my pack and the bike was worth a couple hundred dollars...Never saw the guys again....until a few years later, I was at the library downtown and they were trying the same thing on a guy..but the guy was very muscular...but I stayed away, because the homeless guys looked very mean...and I could feel my heart racing...

My sense of security in my own home, my sense of safety while laying in my own bed alone.

They (anyone for that matter) can take whatever possessions they want. I don't care. I will never EVER feel safe again in my own home. It doesn't matter how many locks on doors and windows. It doesn't matter how many times I check and double check my children, the doors, the windows, the yard.
I hate waking screaming in my sleep, it wakes my hubby and has woken the kids. I hate jumping out of bed into a crouch ready to fight when it is only the cat. I love the hubby, but miss being able to go to sleep on my own without having to have him there.

I will tell you that a concealed weapons permit and being a crack shot with a 45 mag. is still no comfort. :mad2:

Forgiveness is easy, getting past it is not.

~sorry for the rant. But I also know I am not the only one on this site (male or female) that has been through similar things. We do survive though:)

Car stereo and a broken window when I lived in a bad part of town, but the bonus was that the rock salt I had my cousin load into some shotgun shells ended up coming in handy, broke the guys car window and his tail light as he drove away, don't know if I hit him or not but I was happy, well as happy as a theft victim could be.

Just last month i went to a food pantry and i left the food in the back seat well that night someone broke the window and only stole the food panty stuff. funny thing is i keep my doors unlocked. and my wifes car couple years ago they took only a stock tape deck radio again stock tape deck radio uh guess the money right on the dash was worth less lol

I've had a house broken into, vandalized, and the oven packed full of dead insects and left on warm... weird eh?

Truck broken into three times. First time, they broke a window, and stole the battery. Spit on the radio, threw all my Cd's onto the seat and took my cd case. Guess they did'nt like my taste in music, or the cheap player in the dash..

Second time, they broke a window and just took the battery again.

Third time, they broke a window and filled it with bags of garbage from my own can. I'd started taking the battery out at night you see...

Do muggings count? I've been mugged on three continents, but I've never given up a buck. I've been shot twice, stabbed a number of times, and some crazy guy with a cup of gasoline set my leg on fire once. Heh, I've also collected two pistols, several knives, and a few wallets from muggers. I guess it evens out.

I've had knives and veggie peelers stolen out of my chef's kit at work before. I switched to a left handed peeler and that ended that. Everyone else is right handed and thinks it's broken.

Friend of mine went on a week's vacation once, with an alarm system attached to the doors and windows. Thieves cut a man sized hole in a wall of her house to gain acess and totally cleaned her out. Police said they must have used heavy equipment because the wall they cut was brick.

Another friend had multiple guns stolen from his home. He recovered two of them himself by walking the streets and trying to buy them back from drug addicts. Recovered both of them in under six hours, but one of the rifles is still missing...

Oh yeah, Identity theft. Girl opened a bank account and web site in my name with her as a permitted draw. Got herself a credit card on my I.D. and was all set to go on a spree. I caught it early and cancelled the card, shut down the site, and cleaned out her bank account. Got nearly 400 of her money, plus her full name and adress. Then I drove to her home city, knocked on her door, and we had a very satisfying talk.
