เช้าที่ดี I just read the entire post, and find it amazing. I am subscribing. I had a chance to go to Thailand back in 1985, but got sick and could not go. It has always been one of my dreams to visit there. I think, had I gone, I might have stayed. Good luck.

Dan.

Quick update...filter cleaned today and pumped out a lot of water...now with clean water, clean filter, it's quite a sight to see Mr. T. chasing the feeders.
Water really cleared up and I'm working with our cleaning lady...(the one some of you mistakenly held for a child in the video...lol), to have the filter-pads cleaned 2x a day first, then bringing it down slowly until most of the yuk is out of the water. Good progress, he really looks awesome. Colors coming up very bright.
Was amazed when our cleaning lady opened the side, Mr. T comes over, hoping for snacks, waiting and just being ok with cleaning lady stroking his head. After that, understands there's no food and just as easy turns around and goes hunting for the feeders.

Cleaned the filter pad again, pumped out 1/3 of the water, major improvement in water quality. Far less rubbish in the filter as well and the smell is much less than it was yesterday morning.
So overall, establishing a firm schedule and can start to work on better and easier filter.
Mr. T. is king of the hill in his pond. Constantly moving, looking, trying to get those little evasive snacks... Feeling a lot more easy now that I can see him relaxed and ok with his surroundings, even though it's just a temporary housing for now.

Well, just to keep updated, Mr. T. is doing just fine... As I've read in MFK Arapaima treads, they are very smart and pickup very fast about who and where the feeding is.
I look into the pond regularly and straight away, he comes over, looks up and waits for a snack. Once he figures I'm only checking on him, he turns around and goes about with his own thing.

Overall, for what I learned about him, he likes the filter splashing in the water. Makes him active and chasing feeders.
Once I switch off the power for cleaning it, he gets in the opposite corner and lies still.
Start up the filter, straight away he goes over checking it out.

Never seen a fish picking up so fast on his surroundings and what's happening. Beautiful sight. Really hope to get started with his bigger pond soon.

For the filter, still the same simple water-drum, 2 openings at the bottom, pumping water in at the top. Instead of the filter-floss/mat, I now put an old towel or T-shirt over the top, hanging down in the middel, then put on the lid and the metal clamp to securely close it. (it's one of those circular clamps that fit around the 2 rims from lid and drum holding it tightly together).
The towel acts as a good filtersock, changing it 2x a day, overnight it's completely brown, so plenty of small rubbish coming out of the water...
The pump-inlet is just above the towel, with a 90' elbow on the inside, so it creates a centrifuge inside, covering the whole towel instead of just 1 spot, before it drips down into the area below.
Likely going to use IC-trays (carbon-fibre) to fill the area below as a place for bacteria to grow.

Couple of pics I made yesterday, while cleaning and pumping out water...

Cleaned the water today, with only 30cm or so left, time to make some pictures.
Mr.T is doing great, can't wait to start digging the pond.
But for now, only some pictures to keep you guys satisfied.
Added bonus, a short video of him swimming around.
