Zebra Moray in a 65 Gallon

I'm sorry Liz, for all you gotten there were someone's opinion on size of the zebra species for that is what you only had there from fenner`s thoughts. A person who not kept any eels himself and I meet the man some 7-8 years ago and wanted to make a comparison on my personal views on a good number of eel species and every time the man made an excuse to get away. After he did something as that for the fourth time, I went to talk with the other book writer the store had there, so know this, just because you see books under his name, it not mean that it is he who knows what his talking about. Also before I began talking to him, I told him of myself of my years of experiences within keeping eels.

That meeting with fenner, I will never forget and it was at the old location at fish world>

If you could fish him out would you?

Yes.

I was wanting opinions, but I don't want people telling me I must do something. Because I already stated I'm not going to take apart my tank to get him out. I just asked if my tank is too small, I didn't ask whether I should return him.

Liz, I used to tell folks when the question was put to me that I would house a zebra moray for its life span in a 180 due to the possibility that it could grow to its normal maxi um size in which is 5'

Which in any case, the low minimum I say for this species is a 150. You also know Liz that the larger you can go is always the better. I'm sure that this eel is not so large as yet and will take years for I heard of reports of the zebra morays living longer then 25 years and I happen to believe this.

OldMan, I was having a bit of difficulty reading your post. Are you suggesting that Fenner supports a Zebra in a tank that size? If so, from what I've read he actually suggests a tank much larger and longer in nature.

In this link which was provided, fenner remarks in this that the zebra grows only 2-3' and comments its on the overall length in captivity and that is something that no one should ever say if they truly understood eels for eels will grow to their maxium size if we all do all the best for them, they will grow. And to stun growing a eel will cut the life span of the species.

Like I said, I driving out to fish world at that time because fenner was to be there and I was expecting the chat of a life time, he in my book is a huge disappointment, he not wanted to talk with me on anything. For the excuses he made all those times to get out of it was that he wanted to see if his other books made it at the store. Jeff the owner told me that he shipped his books and that they wouldn't get here today.

So the truth of the matter was, he not wanted to talk eels face to face with anyone who knew better.

Also, if you watch fenner long enough, he will make huge mistakes for someone who is suppose to be such an expect. I seen links where he said at one time that the eel one wanted to ID was most likely a new species and another answered that its not and told what the ID of that eel.

And I seen many other misguided data his giving others at his site and I say, people can have no idea on who it really is giving it for I'm guessing that its two different people in control to answer under his name.

So if this fenner was so good in knowing of eels, why then he not talk to me? I was angry to learn that his not what he seems to be in his books and link for know this, again> if he were as knowing, he not would made the same excuse over and over again to not talk with me.

I was for the most part expecting the talk of a life time and he was nothing more then a huge disappointment. :( :mad2:

Some LFS, agree that it is going to House in your tank, Just for the sale! If there saying yea it will thrive in your tank, and there smiling with a glint in there eye, Then your being bought as a fool!! Some stores don't care about where there live stock goes!! Just the money.. I would have done some research on the web first or checked out your local library and did some research! I have been aq victim of these types of Sellers! And there is no LFS, that I know would take back a purchase after selling it! Good luck, and may this be a lesson about LFS.
